FRONT PATIO PROJECT - PHASE 10

A BIG DAY - IN THE HEAT!

=-

Got the forms around the Pyracantha ...

few too many thorns to be a significant part of the patio.

We clear out the final yard gravel.

Poor Spot, our ferrel cat of 12 years, is afraid to come out to watch.

Form for the first step down to the back yard level.

about then the good stuff arrives ...

a quick barrier to keep sand out of the gravel ....

and bang, there it is with 4 pallets of bricks.

The first sand gets moved ...

in time for our first breakfast on the front patio!

Yeh, she makes me eat healthy too!

Sara's daughter Kara comes to help with the grunt labor ...

and her 2 sons, John and Jacob, are thrilled to get to help ....

the pile shrinks at a frantic pace ...

even a little clean up to keep the sand under control.

I finally thought I better check on them ..

and find them leaning on the shovel and empty buckets!

and taking a water break!

Well somehow, they got a lot of sand moved.

Very little left to deal with when they leave ...

but concerned that we do not have enough sand - only time will tell.

Somehow, by 8PM, without heat strokes or exhaustion we get all the sand moved,
Sara finishes the sand and moves 1 whole pallet of bricks into place, and I get the first row of bricks mortared into place.
